Leadership

Terry Frechette

In 1995 Terry Frechette and Larry Antonellis purchased the R.J. Shepherd Company from Ray Shepherd. Since that time Terry has been the face of R.J. Shepherd, especially in Northern New England where Terry annually logged tens of thousands of miles in his van calling on golf professionals, many of which consider Terry more of a friend than a salesman. This was evidenced this past fall when Terry was presented with the prestigious George S. Wemyss award by the NEPGA. The award was presented to Terry by Jim Remy, Past President of the PGA of America.

Since graduating from Boston College in 1964, Terry has spent essentially his entire career in the golf industry working for the Ben Hogan Company and Foot-Joy, before becoming an independent sales representative with such companies as AHEAD, U.S. Kids Clubs, Sabona and of course, R.J. Shepherd.

When Terry is not on the road calling on golf professionals, he can be found spending time with his family – Carole, his wife and love of his life, and their 5 children, their respective spouses and 18 grandchildren. Terry’s partners at R.J. Shepherd (Paul, Peter & Tim) are proud to call Terry our partner.

Timothy B. McDonnell - R.J. Shepherd President

Tim is a Certified Public Accountant specializing in income tax planning and compliance for individuals and small businesses. Other areas of expertise include the taxation of employee stock options and the taxation of U.S. expatriates and foreign nationals.

Tim has over 30 years of experience as a tax professional. In 1994, after 17 years with Ernst & Young, where he was the Worcester, MA Office Director of Tax, he left to start his own tax practice. Since its inception, McDonnell & Associates has grown from a handful of clients to over 350.

Tim's real passion is golf. Albeit not very good (he carries a 16-18 handicap), he loves the game. He first got into the golf business in 1991 when he and good friend Joe Carr (a PGA Professional) built a 9-hole public golf course in Rutland, MA (Bedrock Golf Club). Tim met Terry Frechette through Joe Carr and helped Terry and his former partner, Larry Antonellis, with RJ Shepherd's accounting and tax needs. When Larry decided to retire, Tim purchased Larry's interest in RJ Shepherd and has been an active member of RJ's management team ever since.

The highlight of Tim's golfing life was caddying for Joe Carr in the 1996 U.S. Senior Open when Joe carded a second round 66 to tie the tournament course record. Without a doubt, he was more nervous carrying the bag than Joe was playing. Tim has caddied in 7 major tournaments (3 U.S. Senior Opens, 2 Senior PGA Championships and 2 U.S. Women's Opens).
